I like my eggs soft-boiled. I actually dislike hard-boiled eggs a lot. What does this mean for my morning routine? For someone who is easily distracted (one husband, two kids, five dogs) or juggling a few extra responsibilities in the morning (one husband, two kids, five dogs), making the perfect egg could be “just one more thing to do”. Here’s the thing. That perfectly soft-boiled egg makes me happy for a couple of reasons. I make one for my daughter and it means she gets protein prior to school and I get protein prior to the other distractions that will follow their departure to school. It’s a check off my “Do The Right Thing” list.
What’s the point of this glimpse into my morning? Do you have something that makes you happy enough to figure out a way to incorporate it into your daily life. Instead of allowing the negative roadblock to stop you from feeling and being your best, look for a way. Egg solution…set a timer every time! Get a system. I am more convinced than ever that systems are the key to achieving your goals and happiness in general. Give your kids a system. Eat dinner, clear their plate, pack their own lunch for the next day. Boom! Easier mornings.
